Taylor Fairchild is an attorney in the firm's patent practice group, where she devotes her time to drafting patent applications related to biomedical, electrical, and mechanical engineering technologies. Her experience includes drafting patent materials for technologies related to semiconductors, medical devices, machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI), manufacturing, consumer products, and mechanical devices. Taylor also has experience with design patents, particularly in the areas of software, cosmetics, and packaging.
Aside from her work in patent prosecution, Taylor also provides counseling regarding freedom-to-operate searches, intellectual property contracts, and PTAB appeals. Her practice extends to providing litigation and inter partes review support in patent infringement and validity matters.
Prior to going to law school, Taylor was a lab technician providing R&D support at consumer products company Alaffia. Taylor holds a B.S. degree in biochemistry from The Evergreen State College, an M.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Washington, and a J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law. She currently serves as the treasurer of the Washington Lawyers for the Arts. Taylor is included in Super Lawyers’ 2024 list of Washington Rising Stars.
