Matt Ruppel is an associate in the firm’s life sciences practice group where he focuses his time on the drafting of patent applications for chemistry related innovations. Matt also prepares office action responses for patents related to chemical, biotechnology, nanotechnology, materials science, cosmetics, diagnostics, pulp and paper, medical and mechanical devices, and related software inventions.
Matt is a graduate of Seattle University School of Law. He has a Bachelor of Science in chemistry and a Master of Science in analytical chemistry. Prior to attending law school, Matt was a high school teacher for six years, teaching the subjects of chemistry, earth sciences, physics, and English. Matt is a co-author of 13 peer-reviewed publications in the areas of science and technology. He also has experience with basic software programming, is a professional photographer, and is basic conversational in Japanese.
