Margie Aoki collaborates with clients to develop strategies to protect their intellectual property, working closely with inventors to craft robust utility and design patent applications that highlight the client’s innovations. During examination, Margie encourages open communication with patent examiners to find the most efficient path towards allowance.

Margie’s experience extends to freedom-to-operate and validity opinions, design-around strategies, and due diligence for portfolio acquisitions. Her pragmatic approach to the review of third-party patent assets provides a deliverable that compliments the business considerations of the client.

Margie advises clients on technologies related to food processing equipment, tools and machinery, heavy duty vehicles, alternative and clean energy, surveillance equipment, mobility support devices, consumer products, medical devices, pharmaceutical dispensing, cable connection and repair systems, and spacecraft systems.

Margie is named to Intellectual Asset Management’s IAM Patent 1000 – The World’s Leading Patent Professionals and to the list of Best Lawyers in America.
