Casey Fitzpatrick, a member at COJK, has extensive experience with patents covering a variety of technologies. He focuses his practice on the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, inter partes review (IPR) proceedings, and patent infringement and invalidity analysis in the context of litigation and opinions of counsel. Casey’s technical expertise covers a wide range of computing technologies, including vehicle computer systems, mapping and navigation, messaging and communications software, graphical user interfaces for mobile devices, digital video and audio codecs, digital photography and image processing (including medical imaging), virtual and augmented reality systems, cloud computing, artificial intelligence and machine learning, medical devices and healthcare applications, e-commerce, and software development and testing tools. His experience extends to computer hardware and user interface devices, mechanical devices, electrical devices, and manufacturing processes. Casey also assists clients with issues in other areas of intellectual property law, including trademark law and copyright law.

Casey regularly presents on IP topics to clients and in-house legal teams. He is a former president and board member of the Washington State Patent Law Association. Casey is named to the 2024 and 2025 list of The Best Lawyers in America and has been selected by the publication as a “Lawyer of the Year” for his work in patent law.
