World IP Day 2021
April 26, 2021 marks World Intellectual Property Day, established by the World Intellectual Property Organization to celebrate intellectual property (IP) and the role IP rights play in encouraging innovation and creativity. The annual celebration aims to raise awareness of the important role intellectual property rights play in daily life, and to recognize the contributions made by creators and innovators to the development of societies around the world. This year’s theme, “IP & SMEs: Taking your ideas to market,” recognizes and celebrates how each of the millions of small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that operate around the world started with an idea that took shape in someone’s mind and made its way to market.
