Announced on April 3, 2014, the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) established a new Office of International Patent Cooperation (OIPC) to focus dedicated resources to better implement its international patent cooperation efforts. The OIPC will collaborate with other federal government offices to develop means to increase quality and create new efficiencies within the complex processes of international patent rights acquisition, further expanding the USPTO's commitment towards global patent harmonization.
