COJK, in partnership with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and Northwest Entrepreneurs Network, hosted the USPTO educational outreach program, "Trademark Basics: What Every Small Business Should Know Now, Not Later." The presentation discussion included:
- The differences between trademark, copyright and patents;
- How to identify when trademark protection is appropriate;
- The importance of seeking trademark protection, including selecting a strong mark and conducting trademark searches; and
- Potential grounds for USPTO trademark registration refusal.
