Rwanda Adopts Madrid Protocol for Trademark Registration Process
Rwanda will join the 90 other countries already streamlining the international trademark registration process by ratifying the Madrid Protocol, bringing the total number of member African states to 15. The Madrid Protocol is an international filing system established to provide a cost-effective and efficient way to file a centralized trademark application in a single office, in one language, with one set of fees, and in one currency. As of August 17, 2013, trademark applicants will have the option to include Rwanda when filing new applications under the Madrid Protocol.
