IP Basics: Considerations for Innovators
Thursday, November 5, 2015
Intellectual property is a component of many businesses. In some instances, a business is created for the sole purpose of monetizing an idea or innovation. Smart entrepreneurs and innovators know when they have a good idea, but they may not always know what the next steps are in safeguarding and protecting their idea.
There are certain measures innovators should take before they begin development and marketing of their idea or innovation. Not understanding these measures could affect one’s ability to protect and enforce their IP rights.
COJK attorneys Margie Aoki, Casey Fitzpatrick, and Alina Morris will outline the basics of IP and how to protect it, with a discussion on patents, trademarks, copyrights, and IP-related agreements.
COJK will host its annual IP workshop on Thursday, November 5, 2015 from 8:00 to 11:45 a.m. Registration and breakfast will begin at 7:30 a.m.
Please join us for this program exploring the basics of IP and what innovators should consider before taking steps to protect, develop, or market their ideas.
COJK is pleased to have the Economic Development Council of Seattle and King County as a community sponsor of this workshop.
