May 18 is Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD), which aims to raise awareness of digital access and inclusion for the more than one billion people alive today who live with disabilities or impairments. GAAD was launched in 2012, with the goal to get people around the world talking, thinking, and learning about digital access and inclusion and people with different disabilities. Now in its 12th year, GAAD promotes access and inclusion through raising awareness, offering resources, keeping a global calendar of events, and through the GAAD Foundation. The GAAD Foundation’s mission is to disrupt the culture of technology and digital product development to include accessibility as a core requirement.
