David Sheldon To Participate in 2018 CASRIP Summer Institute
The Center for Advanced Study and Research on Innovation Policy (CASRIP) will host its annual two-week conference, the 2018 CASRIP Summer Institute, offering a series of intensive courses teaching the fundamentals of patent prosecution and patent litigation. The institute also identifies and covers important legal questions on cutting-edge topics impacting business and innovation. COJK patent attorney David Sheldon will present the program, “Overview of U.S. Intellectual Property Law,” which will focus on the basics of intellectual property, including an introduction to patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. David will also moderate the panel discussion, "AI and the Impact on the Delivery of Legal Services," which will explore how artificial intelligence (AI) tools are enhancing—and sometimes replacing—traditional law practices.
CASRIP is a research and policy development institute focusing on problems in patents and other property ownership rights in high technology. The CASRIP Summer Institute offers in-depth legal education and training for U.S. and international intellectual property attorneys, patent agents, post-graduate scientists and engineers, and law students. The conference will take place at the University of Washington School of Law from July 16 – 27, 2018.
