COJK Supports ARCS Foundation Since 1996
COJK has proudly supported the Achievement Rewards for College Scientists (ARCS) Foundation for over fifteen years and continues its support this year with another Named ARCS Fellowship. The Seattle chapter of the ARCS Foundation provides scholarships to academically outstanding U.S. citizens at the University of Washington and Washington State University studying to complete degrees in science, medicine, and engineering, thereby contributing to the advancement of science and technology.
COJK's involvement with ARCS began when of counsel Jim Uhlir, at the time a member of the firm, connected with a client that was an ARCS Fellowship recipient. Motivated by ARCS' commitment to attract and support the most talented students to the Pacific Northwest, Jim spearheaded COJK's involvement with ARCS in 1996 — a firm tradition still to this day. "This is an opportunity for us to support the University by supporting graduate students in science, engineering and medicine," Jim said, "It just fits with what we do."
