Seattle University School of Law presented its fourth annual Summer Practice Academy, a series of intensive and interactive certificate programs for lawyers on cutting-edge topics designed to enhance their practice and develop their skills in growing areas of the law.

A faculty of COJK attorneys conducted a three-day program titled, “Intellectual Property: From Fundamentals to Enforcement.” Day one discussed the basics of intellectual property; day two explored a practical understanding and application of IP in the business world; and day three provided an introduction to IP enforcement and discussed advanced client issues and IP conflicts. The COJK attorney faculty included Brian McMahon, serving as moderator and presenter, leading the COJK attorney faculty of Margie Aoki, Matt Balint, Everett Fruehling, Alina Morris, Rhys Lawson, David Sheldon, and Brandon Stallman through the program.

Seattle University Summer Practice Academy courses draw upon the significant expertise of the law school faculty, as well as prominent practitioners in the community. Other programs include “Mastering Legal Writing Certificate Program,” and “Health Law Certificate.” The Summer Practice Academy took place from June 21 - August 11.
