COJK Hosts Program on Software Patentability
Patent attorney David Sheldon presented the program, “What You Need to Know about the Patentability of Software,” which discussed recent developments and shared experiences over the past two years relating to what types of software-related inventions are patent eligible. The discussion included information to assist intellectual property decision makers in determining whether seeking patent protection makes sense for particular software-related inventions, how to receive the maximum value from already-filed patent applications, and how design patents, copyright, and trade secrets can be used to cover the gaps left by utility patents. The program took place at COJK on November 17, 2016.
